Events & Festivals to Attend

Seymour is a historical military and rail-service town. It is located on the banks of the Goulburn River. At Seymour, you can listen to the birds, watch the local wildlife or take a look into the town’s rich history as a military stronghold during the Vietnam War in the Australian Light Horse Memorial Park or on the Vietnam Veterans’ Commemorative Walk.

It’s a great place for kids and adults to have a fun and informative time. You can have a taste of the delicious local food. It is also a great place to learn about and observe farming activities and animals.

Not only do you get to experience all these fun activities, but you can also take part in the yearly events and festivals that take place in Seymour. They include the Tastes of the Goulbon and the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo.

The Tastes of the Goulbon

The Tastes of the Goulbon is a food and wine festival that holds in October. The festival brings you the finest wine and food from the Goulbon River Valley. Brewers, Growers, Winemakers, and Restauranteurs come together at the festival to showcase their finest creations. The festival holds every year with star chefs demonstrating their creations. There are also food stalls where you can purchase a delicious meal.

Apart from the food and wine, the festival also includes an entertainment stage. The stage features live music and a lot of other activities suited for adults and children. Transportation is provided via a steam train that provides return services from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station to Seymour after the festival.

You can find more information about the festival at www.tastesofthegoulburn.org.au.

Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions, the festival is currently on hold. However, the planners are actively looking for alternative ways to bring wine, food, and fun to your lives. You can also order food and beverages from the Goulbon River Valley producers online.
